Martinelli: I will give 100% every single day

Having put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with Arsenal, Gabriel Martinelli is targeting trophies and says he’ll give his maximum to help the team achieve its goals.

The 21 year old has chipped in with 7 goals and 3 assists in all competitions so far this season, and is keen to repay the faith of the club and the support of the fans with silverware.

Speaking to the official site, he said, “We need to win trophies. I think not just me but everyone in that dressing room wants to go to the games to win them, and for our fans.

“To them, I would just like to say thank you for all the support. They’ve been amazing with me this season.

“The atmosphere in the stadium this season has been unbelievable and I just want to say thank you. I will give 100 percent every single day for this football club.”

And on his new deal, he continued, “I feel amazing, I’m really happy in getting the new contract.

“I want to do my best for the team and for the fans as well, to give back to them and make them proud.

“I’ve said it many times, I love everything about Arsenal. I love the city, I love my teammates, I love the fans, I love the club and I’m going to try my best for this football club.”

Earlier Mikel Arteta spoke about how pleased he was having tied down a key young talent, and insisted there was much more to come from the Brazil international.

“He can develop physically,” he said. “He can develop mentally. He can develop in terms of consistency. He can develop defensively.

“He can develop in the final third and in the spaces that he occupies. His numbers can be improved, and he’s so willing.

“That’s the best thing about Gabi.”

Pressed on further contract extensions for the likes of William Saliba and Bukayo Saka, the boss continued, “Part of the plan is to extend the contracts of our biggest talents at the club and commit them for the future.

“We are trying to do that. We have started with Gabi, which is good news. The others will be done whenever we can, but we have to agree on that.”

Do you remember his first stint out in Europa cup and he was telling tierney to put it on his head. I remember thinking oh my god, have we got the next ronaldo? Can’t wait to see him evolve

The Neymar gang of yellow dyed hair players. I am glad our boy is not like that bunch. Practically prevented from showing his skill at the WC because that clique was not passing ball to the left.

I believe him

Heavenly Chapecoense

He can develop in the final third”, if he does this, we win the league.

That’s the scary thing about Gabi, you feel like he’s still developing and growing as a player. He’s an astonishing talent and it’s great he’ll be here for a while yet!

To be honest I think, with his contract negotiations dragging on a bit he was playing a little bit with the hand break on, so to speak.
With the contract resolved I expect he will be even better – he has it in him to step up another gear.
The combination of raw talent, security and a love of his club makes for the perfect concoction. Exciting times.

His last contract went on to 2026 with extensions, so this is more a pay rise than a worry about staying at the club. He always said he would sign.

Doghouse

His work rate is 2nd to none in his position, has the awareness to track back at speed when our opponents counterattack yet gets going on our forward play to directly get in the box to set up chances for him & team, gets clattered most games but has resilience and toughness, great attitude, a total professional.. a well deserved contract.

Ozzie

Total eyeballs out commitment every minute of every game since we first saw him.at 17. I love watching Gabi more than any other player.

His commitment from day one has always been clear to us. I think Gabi can now go on to add more goals to his game as he matures.
