According to The Sheffield Star, Sheffield Wednesday are weighing up a January move for Arsenal Academy striker Mika Biereth.
The Denmark under-21 international joined Motherwell on a season-long loan deal in August but is attracting attention from a number of suitors after scoring five goals and making six assists in 15 appearances.
Biereth joined the Gunners from Fulham in the summer of 2021 and carried over his impressive form at youth level scoring 12 goals at under-21 level.
He was also an unused sub for the first team on a number of occasions before joining Dutch side RKC Waalwijk on loan last season. Two goals in 13 appearances wasn’t much of a return but his move north of the border appears to be bringing out the best in him.
🚨Understand highly-rated #Arsenal striker Mika Biereth is a player Owls would like to take on loan.
Denmark u21 int. V impressive youth record and 11 goal involvements in 14 with Motherwell this season. Would require loan rip-up.

Arsenal aren’t averse to rehousing players halfway through existing loan arrangements, even when they are doing well. Last January, goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo was recalled from Crewe Alexandra and then loaned to Austrian side Sturm Graz to continue his development.
Sheffield Wednesday are certainly in dire need of goals. They’ve only hit the net 21 times in 27 Championship games this season and currently sit in the relegation zone.
Interestingly, the Star reports that Biereth has been training at Arsenal during Scottish football’s winter break.
That would Mika lot of sense.
For sure, he’d be a biereth of fresh air in Sheffield!
Owls looking to swoop?
I’ll believe it when I see them tweet tweet twoooooo.
We can all raise our biers to that
Utd must be Biereft of ideas.
There have been mikado signings………
They should just Mika offer!
He would be like Biereth of fresh air if he breaks into our first team
The Championship is probably a slightly higher level than the SPL, but why would you take a guy who’s having a great season and presumably full of confidence, then chuck him mid-season into a shite team where he wouldn’t get a kick most games?
Today is Wednesday, and maybe his Mother[is not]well?
Couldn’t you find something that suits his Mother well instead?
MIKAn’t actually…
If they pay us?
Jokes in here making me groan like watching us play
I’ve always liked this lad. He’s big, fast and strong and has a cracking shot on him. Hope we loan him rather than selling, and that it’s a place where he gets loads of game time.
He’s really good and I’m hoping he eventually gets a chance with the first team. I think he’s becoming a really exciting young striker. His all round game and decision making are good and it’d be horrible if he was sold without a proper chance. All the talk about Ivan Toney and the huge fee involved, I think this young man will be better, and he’s also a good personality from all reports.
So, the new TGSTEL has a good personality?
I was going to reply, but you’re not worth the effort.
But you did anyway.
