Arsenal have confirmed that Wellington Silva has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan for the 2015-16 season.
The Brazilian will spend the campaign in the Championship, a far cry from La Liga, and one wonders if it’s telling that there were no Premier League clubs willing to take him. At 22 he’s not a kid anymore, and despite doing reasonably well with Almeria last season, it wasn’t enough to catch the eye of any top flight managers.
Nonetheless, it’ll be interesting to see how he gets on closer to home, and if he can make an impact in a league that’s a long way from what he’s used to.
He’s the latest addition to the clutch of loan players plying their trade elsewhere this season, for some it’s now or never time for them in their careers – and Wellington is certainly one of those.
Hope it works out for him. He’s been in the wilderness for a long time. Doesn’t look much like he’s ever going to make it into the Arsenal squad but a decent career lower in the league may still be a possibility.
Espero que sim!
Let’s be honest, he’s never going to play for us. After how long the club’s been loaning him out, even after obtaining a permit, I’m surprised he’s still here. But given that Wenger, for some unfathomable reason, only plays one winger at a time and fills the other wing with an out-of-position midfield who doesn’t want to play there, Wellington will have a hard time getting in the team with Sanchez, Chamberlain and Walcott ahead of him in the pecking order.
please stop being a pessimist.
Woah! You guys reported this a week ago…your definitely ITK. Any news on benzema? #KB9
The news is the Benzema news is just news, a story that sells papers. Stop buying in to this story as an arsenal supporter. It wont happen you heard it here 1st!
benzema is just a stupid rumor and i cant believe people still talking about it, its the definition of modern fucking “reporting”, just another lie to advertise entertainment… real has only one natural striker, benzema obviously wouldnt like leaving a real madrid for arsenal (realistically you only gotta be an arsenal fan or unwanted there to do such a move) other parties have denied the transfer talk as well (agent, wenger, teamates…) and we all know wenger doesnt even want to buy another striker (albeit many gooners thinking otherwise)
Clearly my sarcasm has not come across well.
Oh blogs… stop with these loan deal stories ..
Instead post rumour stories for the 10 or so days remaining
till the transfer window shuts down…
No
when will you use the poo-meter then?
I guess the basic purpose of poo-meter was to
spray poo on the shitty transfer rumours……..
and it was pretty popular too…
Why is Gibbs being loaned out again?
Haha! Thats Oxlade-Chamberlain, knobhead!
Sure its not Gnabry?
Band of Brothels: A group of madams led by Ashley Madison work hard to protect their websites from attack.
Wrong thread?
OOOOOOOOOOOOSPINAAA
Give it up mate….
Hmmm, interesting, Wellington Silva is a 22 year old sent out on loan and isn’t expected to make it at Arsenal, but Sanogo is a 22 year old sent out on loan but is expected to possibly still have a future at the club, how does that work?
We have a plethora of talent on the wings – where Silva specialises.
Sanchez, Walcott, Ox, Welbeck, Gnabry, Campbell (yes, he still plays for us) and I guess including Ramsey here coz he plays RM for us is fair.
On the other hand, Sanogo has to compete with Giroud, Walcott, Welbz and Akpom.
Less competition I guess.
I’m not including new youth players such as Jeff coz two friendlies cannot serve as a meter of judgement of their potential.
Personally I thought Sanogo would come good, showed in youth levels that he can score goals. But seeing him not playing against even a league lower table club en then ‘not fit’ tonight against sum team called Jablonec, he just doesnt seema able to play that guy Milik out of the team. If he can’t do it there…
Know nothing bout Silva, never seen the boy play. That might gt easier now I guess…if he gets in the team!
Think watching Bolton vs Wolves edges Almeria vs Deportivo La Coruna by this match hence a championship move could very well represent his best chance of moving to the Prem.
Good luck.
*much
Wellington looks a bit like Debo.
Debo, who he/she?
The only way I see this guy breaking into our first team is by changing his name to Wellingquelin
Or Jeff perhaps?
I like that Wellington felt uncomfortable wearing a Bolton shirt on his body and so seems to have worn a protective layer of the old Arsenal home kit from a couple of years back.
