Forest keeper Darlow linked with Gunners

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow as they look to replace the departed Lukasz Fabianski and Emiliano Viviano.

The 23-year-old, who sounds like a character out of Coronation Street, has worked his way through Forest’s ranks since joining in 2010 establishing himself as the club’s first choice keeper over the last 18 months. Rewarded with a 4-year-contract this time last year he’s been tipped for a big future with Chelsea previously said to be looking at him.

It’s obvious the Gunners are need of reinforcements between the sticks, although Arseblog News would be lying if we said we knew much about him. He’s young and English which would suggest he won’t come cheap, but on the other hand we’re f*cking loaded these days and h’d pose a long-term challenge to undisputed number one Wojciech Szczesny.

There’s still speculation linking Wenger with moves for Real Madrid’s Casillas, Cardiff’s David Marshall and pretty much every other keeper who managed to catch two consecutive crosses at the World Cup (not you Igor Akinfeev, sorry chap) but there appears to be little substance to the gossip.

In other news, young trio Glen Kamara, Tafari Moore and Josh Vickers have all signed professional terms at the Emirates. Mainstays of the under-18s last season they’ll be hoping to turn heads for the under-21s this season with a view to a potential shot at  a run out in the Capital One Cup.

Now, where do we think the Darlow link lies on the Poo-ometer? Let’s go for a 6…it’s ‘according to Sky Sports’ after all.

Joel Campbell's gurn.

Makes as much sense as Song’s haircut.

JC

Hmm not sure about this one. He’s as ready as Damian Martinez.

We need someone who can step in for Szczesny.

Desert Fox

To be fair, he is 23 and played over 40 games for Forest last season…..would say he is probably ahead of Martinez.

alex

Sounds like agent making noise to me

Master Bates

It’s SkySports !! that’s a lot of poo on the poo-ometer

Matty Flam Flam

Sky Sports? The Poo-ometer is already making dangerous creaking noises…

Third Plebeian

I’d like clarification: Is the rumour judged to be more legit based on more poos? Or are more poos an indicator that the rumour is more full of shit?

Thanks.

Rad Carrot

Those poos are adorable.

butters

Who knows, maybe another academy keeper will trurn into sczsney

Tomás Rosicky

but what about Sang…sorry Sanchez?

deano

Yeah really hope we get Sanchez especially after see on the talksport website all the bin dippers slag him off for choosing a team with no ambition or history. Stuck in the past bunch of tossers hope they finish back around seventh next season.

Robstar

I saw Dave Seaman play in that ITV Charity match, I think we should sign him back up. Des Walker didn’t look bad either……

Big Dave

His name sounds like a blocked nose.

ogban

Sounds credible to me. Typical Wenger.

Goonerestgooner

How (Karl Dar)Low can you go?

Edu's Braces

Darlow’s Poo-ometre makes it sound more official.

Double98

Darlow’s first principle of poo-ometrics states that a man may run out of flying fucks but must keep his stock of rats asses high whilst watching sky sports news.

Charles

Used to have to get Akinfeev in the first transfer window or he’d cost 20m, on Football Manager 2007.

Merlin's Panini

You could probably get him for peanuts on the new one after his stinker of a World Cup.

McGooner

I’d rather play JY Park between the posts

Rodrick

We should get Neuer. He’d be well good as a cup keeper.

ARiddlingName

After reading this, some newspaper: “Our sources are telling us that Arsenal are looking at Neuer as a possible replacement for the departed Fabianksi.”

Double98

Roderick is our sources?

Vino

If this is bollocks then you’d have to say, it’s very creative bollocks. Hipster almost.

Arseblood

Debuchey and now Darlow…I’m absolutely creaming myself with excitement. The football world must be terrified of our spending power and squad strength. Jeeezzzus….

jw

Sorry, would you prefer to be reading Dani Alves and now Neuer?

Well you’re in luck, there is a game called Football Manager…you should play it sometime!

Santi Claws

Don’t be ridiculous, Arsenal could never get Neuer and Alves in the 2014-15 window on Football Manager

Double98

You just wait til we start buying the Players whose surnames start with E

Chaillah the Gunner

FIFA clearly states that no professional footballer should have a name starting with ‘E’

Zorro in the box

EEEEEDDDUUUUAAARDOOO…..

Third Plebeian

This rumour makes a lot of sense. After hearing that his club would be managed by Stuart Pearce this coming season, I imagine we’ll be hearing of more Forest players jumping ship.

murray's whale ale

Dalow down on this piece of news is it ain’t happening

dkgÖÖner

My money’s on Sébastien Frey – we haven’t been linked with him yet this summer.

Indiegooner

“not you Igor Akinfeev, sorry chap”.. I find that funny because I can remember from a few summers back when whole of Arsenal fandom on internet was crying for this guy to come and save us from Almunification. Cant blame the argument, he was regarded as the best young GK at that time and was said to be watched by major clubs. As it happened the dude never moved out of Russia and proved to be nothing more than rather average. Speaking of fans bleeding on internet for a player, nothing beats for the time when Arsenal fans were begging… Read more »

Michael

Whatever happened to M’Villa? Remember him?

Indiegooner

He is contracted with Rubin Kazan and has secured a loan move to Inter Milan for next season.

Chaaay

In the summer we all don’t like to mention (The one were Fabregas and Nasri left). I could be wrong but didn’t we bid £18m for M’Villa but Stade Rennais rejected it because they wanted £24m. Seems like we dodged a bullet there.

Third Plebeian

Baptista.

Or, do you mean the dodged bullet variety?

Quaresma. He’s not shit, exactly, but when we were linked with him several years ago, Gooners talked about him like he was nailed-on to be the next C. Ronaldo.

I also remember claiming Wenger had “no clue” when he didn’t make a move for Alfonso Alves (who instead went to…Middlesbrough).

Let’s hope Fabregas also turns out to be a dodged bullet!

k9ine

Remember Yanga Mbiwa, Mvilla, Capoue, Cahill, Samba, Hangeland, Joe cole, Parker, a lot of us fans used to really long for shit. only goes to show that Wenger knows a whole lot more than us. In wenger i trust

Henry! Chance!! Goal!!!

Karl Darlow. Sound like the main character in a low budget straight to DVD action flick

Merlin's Panini

I don’t know if Deirdre would be happy about moving to London with him. She’d have to be in East Enders instead.

Gandalf

Those poos look like Little Kuribohs

Bumbarass

Dem poos are racist doe

Double98

White poo supremacists

Merlin's Panini

I can’t see the resemblance to female deer myself.

Arsenal 4eva

Is valdes still available on a free?? Great player to bring in and fight Szczesny for the number 1 spot

SP

He is injured.. And besides I’d rather take Casillas ^^

Yankee Gooner

Guardian floating the possibility of Corporal Jenkinson as a makeweight in a deal for Debuchy….that floors the Poo-omoter as far as I can tell.

SP

Lol, so many bad reactions. Not the signing we expected but he’s on equal level as fabianski I’d say.

Merlin's Panini

It’s too early to tell. He’s only played in the Championship. Fabianski is a fairly well established Premier League keeper and for the last two years was excellent when called upon.

forestdave

As a forest season ticket holder. I would say Karl Darlow is a great keeper with a bright future ……………but will not be going anywhere. This story came up about a month ago but he was linked to Spurs that time ! I spoke to Darlow towards the end of the season about his future. He’s not even played 100 league games yet and has only had one full season. He was saying that he was still getting used to playing every week and had hated warming the bench. (Which he will do in the prem for you, spurs or liverpool)… Read more »

Rambos mate

Another day another link

Bee

Rene adler from hamburg won’t be bad. He’ll be cheap and he is very experienced,he can teach the other young keepers new(old)tricks. We don’t need another young keeper
