Jenkinson linked with third West Ham loan spell

Carl Jenkinson is being linked with a third loan move to West Ham, according to the London Standard.

The 24 year old spent the duration of the 2014-15 season at Upton Park, and half of 2015-16 before enduring a serious knee injury which saw him return to the North London.

This season he’s been called into action in the absence of Hector Bellerin, but the time out injured and what Arsene Wenger called a loss of confidence saw him struggle.

Last month it was suggested he might be off to Aston Villa in January, but if Premier League football is available to him again that might swing it.

Much will depend on Mathieu Debuchy, currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. If he’s willing to stay until June, then chances are Jenkinson will be allowed leave.

I’ve come to the conclusion he isn’t going to make it at Arsenal

His heartbreak when Arsene tells him though…. it will look similar to Lisa breaking Ralph’s heart on valentine’s day in the simpsons i suspect

Cliff Bastin

Yeah this one feels more like a Benik Adobe than a Francis Coqeulin

vicksonthechest

No one saw Coqeulin making something out of nothing. Never saw never.

vicksonthechest

say*

Why not

Adobe CS stands for central striker?

Cliff Bastin

Hahaha autocorrect sorry. The point is for every Coq that makes it there are about 10 Meridas that don’t, unfortunately.

Doug Cole

Hard to see a long term future for Jenkinson at the club with the form Bellerin is in, unless he is content being a back-up for his career

SB

No disrespect to Jenkinson but I think he is an ideal backup (ignoring his confidence issue).

Shonky

Get out while you can, Jenks!!!!!

EZD

Would have been nice if Jenko had made the grade here. Oh well.

Hard_Coq

I fear our Corporal is gonna be a hammer soon… Permanently….?

Aubrey Graham

If he’s not in our long term plans keep him until the summer as a squad filler then sell him no point loaning him out

Santori

should be the window for him as expected before. I like his commitment to cause but he simply isn’t technical enough Gabriel out of position is a better back up. Calum Chambers has potential to revert back to his natural role too and has better skills on the ball Jenks isn’t going to cut it. Even Maitland Niles is pushing him On that note, likely not going to happen but would like to see Wenger realise we are slightly short in midfield without Santi Swap Maitland Niles for Jack in January if poss. Renegotiate We need someone who can be… Read more »

Wilshere needs a full season going uninjured to show himself, Wenger and the world that he can do it. Making him come back sooner works to no one’s advantage. He’d just be adding to the confusion – the midfield would be rejigged to another frustrating combination. I’d personally want to see the debate whether Ramsey can do the job in the middle, and whether Wilshere can go for it for a season settled once and forever.

Alexis The Beast Of London

I would really love for him to defy expectations and make it at arsenal. Hopefully that can still happen. Pray he gets that cofidence he needs at the hammers.

David C

Nice kid, but not exactly a prospect any more. Either way, he’s a Gooner and I wish him all the best no matter what happens.

Beezus Fuffoon

I hate to see people give him a hard time, because I love his character and he loves the club. I would really love for him to make it at Arsenal, but it doesn’t look like it’s to be and that’s a sad thing.

If it’s not to be, then I wish the Corporal nothing but the best.

vnet

Keep the faith Jenko.

Fireman Sam

I salute you Corporal for being a gooner and generally decent fellow. Play your little socks off son, because it’s your last chance to impress by the look of it!

richardanus

It’s only fair to make the move permanent.

In a week where our stars have been criticized for a lack of effort, it is a real shame that the guy who would run through walls for the Arsenal is the one being linked away from the Emirates.

Jenko has had many good games for us, and I think his attitude and work ethic are missed when he’s not around.

wellarsed

Love the BFG Christmas video!!!

Dan Hunter

Wish he could have made it, but truth be told, he is just not good enough

Parlour's pay packet

When he comes back to the Emirates, let’s give him the reception he deserves. He lived the dream for so many of us with that goal against Norwich and celebrated like he knew it.

Naz

I love Jenks a lot but Gabriel (4th choice cb) at RB was better in those couple of games therefore we should sell. If we have five CBs, may as well keep one as back up RB (Chambers) behind Bellerin next year. That way we have 4 CBs (Kos Mus Chambers Holding) of which one could play game time at RB to keep fit and give Hector a rest. Mert could stay but that’s too many CBs available and as much as I love Mertesacker, if Kos and Mus are CB, Holding as back up, Holding doing well, Chambers solid… Read more »

Even if Debuchy isn’t back or leaves on loan or a transfer I would still think a loan is the best option for Jenkinson and Arsenal. We’ve got Gabriel and Maitland Niles as cover as the BFG will be back in the middle and we also have Holding who can step in and do at least as well as Gabriel in my opinion.

Sam

congrats to whoever made the BFG video! I’m sick this Xmas so it cheered me up no end. I love Per. No, he’s not the world’s greatest central defender, but he’s right up there with the nicest footballers around.

Jenks is not quite good enough, nor is Chambers. I hope Per is fit enough to come back into the 1st team alongside Koscielny at least until Mustafi is fit. Gabriel doesn’t do it for me, sorry.

Merry Xmas

Wengerballz

Sorry, not good enough for a club that aims to win the PL and CL. Down votes won’t change that. Best of luck.

Canador

Jenks is a decent good lad but I honestly do not think he belong to Arsenal.
