Djourou and Koscielny fit, but Vermaelen ‘a little doubt’ for United

42

Arsene Wenger has confirmed this afternoon that both Johan Djourou and Tomas Rosicky will be available for Sunday’s match against Manchester United, while French centre-back Laurent Koscielny is also in contention.

Worries remain though about the fitness of Thomas Vermaelen after the Belgian picked up a knock in Wednesday’s match against Udinese.

Midfield pair Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere are not expected to be available for several more weeks, Kieran Gibbs is still sidelined with a hamstring problem while Sebastian Squillaci is struggling with a troublesome calf (I recognise this makes him sound like a vet).

Arsenal will also be without Alex Song, Emmanuel Frimpong and Gervinho who are all suspended.

More to follow…

It was Lucas. His first booking was rediculous but eventually I think it saved him from a straight red, which the challenge was worthy of. 1 game instead of 3

If Lucas had a car stereo in his hand I would have recognised him but without that all scousers look the same sorry for the mistake.

As long as you manage to slide and NOT miss the ball whilst simultaneously picking up an injury, you’ve got my support over djourou

I think Wenger kicks Squillers dodgy calf every morning just to make sure.

Isn’t it very obvious that we’re desperately in need of a proper left back? Gibbs won’t stay fit to play more than 20 games/season and Traore wasn’t really good enough for Pompey…

maybe wenger would give landsbury a chance for this match. there are rumors that djourou would play in DM position should both vermaelen and koscielny fit to play. but since it’s still early of the season, i think wenger could take a risk and let landsbury have his chance.

Seems to me a lot of what got us through the other night was the attitude of some of these youngsters, who actually wanna play for The Arse.

Lansbury’s always struck me as that type, so why not give him a go? Under better circumstances and with the optimum squad strength it’d be nuts, but needs must right now.

I agree but why are we in a needs must situation, when we have so much money in the bank?

6 million for cahill come on arsenal you can’t use the 1 year left on his contract as excuse after what we got for the cunt na£ri throw in fucking NB

It also makes us look like a bunch of scratchers with double standards. I’m in no way comparing the Cahill bid as reported with the actions of the Cuntalans over Cesc, but if I were in Bolton’s clogs, I’d right now be thinking a Northern version of CUoCO (Ct’UoCt’O?)

Wenger will play alumnia Infront of the back 4. He will continue his obsession to play players out of position

I am going to squeeze his balls until they pop when Arsene put me in goal on Sunday and call him a stinky french lady flower Evra that is not Arsene

Or I may just say “Oi Frenchy your are a real smelly Nasri you are”

Nasri will never be a Galácticos he is nothing more than a Garlicticos

As long as Squillaci will not be on the match sheet, it sounds like a blessing for the team. I wish he stays out until the final days of his contract.

I wish we would play Lansbury more. He is fantastic. He makes great runs and is always working to get into space between the lines. Good bit of pace also. The kid loves The Arse!
